INSTANT FOOD

First things first. The cookbook collection has found its new (and old) home but with some extra space to grow. Now, time for a first breakfast in the new flat before I tackle the mountain of boxes still to be unpacked. And then hopefully cooking and baking in the new flat can start.
After almost 5 years, it’s time to say goodbye to this beautiful kitchen (and the sole reason I rented this apartment). So many recipes created in this kitchen, some successes and some failures (a lowlight being the buttercream for @lenereal83 ‘s birthday cake that refused to set and slowly poured out of the fraiser layers and onto my countertops while I shed large crocodile tears over ruining my sister’s birthday cake) and, more recently, where @kajahengstenberg and I started hosting supperclubs and cooking classes (the butcher block was perfect for demonstrations). Can’t wait to get started cooking in my new flat though (that is once the mountain of boxes is unpacked).
Doing your first catering gig 3 days before you move into a new flat and in the middle of jumping across Europe for various work trips was maybe not the smartest idea but it only means I am even prouder than I already was of what @kajahengstenberg and myself manage to pull off for @twokitchens_brussels alongside our full-time jobs. Tonight was not just our first catering gig using someone else’s (insanely gorgeous and spacious!) kitchen but also our first time doing an apéro. And we loved coming up with a unique menu for the event and trying out some new dishes. Also, watch this space because next week we will be announcing our next event!
Lost in translation.
